Jumpstart your Irish language journey this summer! Join instructor Vivienne Sayers in Milwaukee as she teaches Gaeilge at the Milwaukee Irish Fest Summer School and Milwaukee Irish Fest, the world’s largest Irish music festival. Across the week, Vivienne will introduce complete beginners to Ireland’s native language through practical vocabulary, conversational phrases, pronunciation, and cultural context. With more than 100 entertainment acts across 17 stages at a 75-acre lakefront festival park, Irish Fest offers an extraordinary setting to experience Irish culture firsthand. No prior knowledge is required, just curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn a cúpla focal.
Milwaukee Irish Fest Summer School
Milwaukee Irish Fest Summer School offers more than 40 classes in Irish music, dance, culture and language during the week leading into the festival. My Beginning Irish course runs Tuesday, August 11 through Thursday, August 13, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., with three mornings created for new learners. I’m also teaching a Beginning Irish Friday Sampler on August 14 from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m!

Milwaukee Irish Fest returns August 13 to 16, 2026, at Henry Maier Festival Park in Milwaukee. Alongside four days of music, dance and cultural programming, the Irish Language Workshop Tent, Ceardlann na Gaeilge, gives festivalgoers a place to explore Gaeilge through greetings, phrases and cultural expression. I’ll be presenting Irish Phrases for Irish Fest there on Friday, August 14, from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m., and again Sunday, August 16, from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m!
